Songwriters: Myrick wanted to escape and create a new world, organic in nature and tap his continuing reference to his roots of Texas. After writing with Victor Bicetti, drummer and percussionist with Los Lobos, Gary rekindled an old friendship with engineer/producer TChad BLake, who had just finished Los Lobos' new album. TChad Blake is known for his work with Bonnie Raitt, Tom Waites, Elvis Costello and others. Winning two Grammys in 1999 for the Sheryl Crow Album. Myrick, after writing for one year and trying his all acoustic, story telling songs in the local clubs, started recording in a 100 year old Southern style house in the Hollywood Hills with friend Michelle White engineering. For the first time each song was recorded in full with guitar and vocal (no punch-ins) A string quarted was added, then TChad Blake mixed and put on the finishing touches with Gary. Finished in December, the album is called "Waltz Of The Scarecrow King." The Los Angeles Times recently reviewed Gary's latest work saying: "This finger Pickin' Texan serves up unexpected treats of Tumbleweed Vampirology to the Ghost Of Elvis." SHAWN AMOS A former NYU film student, Shawn Amos first made the transition to songwriting in 1991 after writing several screenplays under a first-look deal for A&M Films. As a songwriter/artist for film & TV, Amos has contributed a country song to the Miramax film The Prophecy (starring Christopher Walken), a pop song for the Disney release Heavyweights (starring Ben Stiller), a rock song for the independent feature I Shot A Man In Vegas (starring Janeane Garofalo), and recorded a cover version of ìBlue Christmasî for the film of the same name (starring Joanna Going). He also wrote and performed the theme song for the new Paramount-produced childrenís TV show Uncle Wallyís General Store. In May of í95, Amos debuted an original performance art piece along with artist/photographer Roderick Sykes, co-founder of the Los Angeles inner-city arts center St. Elmo Village (where Shawn sits on the Board of Directors). COLORBLIND: Songs and Stills in Black and White confronted racial stereotypes and set the stage for Shawn first CD, Whitey McFearsun, a rock album released independently in February of í96. Later that year, he embarked on a cross-country tour of the southern United States in support of the album before organizing and headlining the Mid-City Street Scene, a day-long arts and music festival in Mid-City Los Angeles. His second CD, the acoustic-oriented Be Real, was recorded in the spring of 1997. With his new band, Uncle Tom, Amos has just completed the recording of an albumís worth of new songs. The resulting record, Harlem, was released May, 2000 by Unbreakable Records and is available at various e-retailers and his own ShawnAmos.com website. In 1998, Amos went to work for Rhino Records as a compilation producer. Amongst his projects is a four CD box set of music, poetry and spoken word from the Harlem Renaissance era entitled Rhapsodies In Black: Music and Words From The Harlem Renaissance, was released November 7, 2000. The set features newly recorded poetry recitations from black artists and performers including Angela Bassett, Alfre Woodard, Chuck D, Debbie Allen, Joshua Redman, Ice T, Branford Marsalis and many others. Shawn lives in L.A. with his wife, actress Marta Martin. ROBYNN RAGLAND Robynn Ragland is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from the St. Louis, MO area, whose success in that region has already become something of a local phenomenon. Her catchy pop-rock single People You Know became a solid radio favorite despite her unsigned local artist status. Her independent debut release, "Modern American Female Gut" quickly became and remains the #1 album in Missouri and St. Louis on the Amazon.com Best Sellers List. Either solo or with her 4-piece rock band, Robynn has won opening slots for artists such as The Jayhawks, Pat Benetar, Dido, Sixpence None The Richer, Juliana Hatfield, The Bare Naked Ladies, Edwin McCain, and many others. She has been the coveted local opener for tours such as The Capitol Record's Girls' Room Tour 2000, and the Lilith Fair Tour 1998. Robynn
