ANGELES (February 5, 2004) -- The 2004 DIY Music Festival will
honor Beth Thornley's self-titled debut as its DIY Album of the Year at
an awards ceremony and live music performance to be held on Thursday
evening, Feb. 5 at the Derby in Hollywood, CA.The awards show, which teams nationally-known DIY musicians with festival winners, is part of the fourth annual DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books, which takes place Feb. 5-7. The convention teaches musicians, filmmakers, authors and entrepreneurs how to create, promote, protect and distribute independent film, music and books. Also honored on Feb. 5th will be Beth Waters, whose "Sweaters" was voted DIY Song of the Year; St. Louis native Robynn Ragland, whose hard-rocking "Modern American Female Gut" won her DIY Songwriter of the Year honors; and Cathy Richardson, whose "The Road To Bliss" garnered DIY Producer of the Year and DIY Album Artwork of the Year. Also appearing live at the 2004 DIY Music Festival Awards is former Dramarama leader John Easdale, whose burgeoning solo career has recently converged with his past thanks to a recent VH1 special. He will join the DIY Music Festival winners in special live sets.
